About the Artist

Hi there! My name is Stacey Sharp, and I'm thrilled to be part of this incredible crew here at Strega Rose Tattoo Arts. This is my creative home away from home, and I can’t wait to share my passion for art and tattooing with you! :)
With over 3 decades of experience in the art of tattooing, I've been tattooing since 1992 and moved to Long Island in 1997 to further my career. I've learned a lot from all the artists I've been fortunate enough to work with, and I'm grateful for all of those incredible opportunities.
I am proficient and knowledgeable with many genres and skilled in a variety of techniques including color, black and grey, bold and fineline, and dot work. I also do restorative and cover-up work.
I really enjoy subject matter that is more fantasy-based. Some subject matter that inspires me is magical/mystical imagery, symbolism, mythology, faeries, dragons, cryptids, and other strange beasts, wildlife, nature and animal portraits...
I prefer my custom work to be a little out of the ordinary. I am very flexible and try to be as open minded as possible. I work well with others of that nature. :)
I want to guide my clients towards what is possible so that they feel like individuals rather than carbon copies. One thing I will not do is reproduce someone elses tattoo on you line for line. It's just not right. However, I can use any image or idea for inspiration to make your work one of a kind. I'd rather help you discover your own symbolism - the things that make each lifetime, each soul and each tattoo unique to the wearer. I'm a firm believer that "a picture is worth a thousand words" so I'll always try to help you find that symbolism that is personally and authentically yours. Let's dream up something unique just for you!
I love art of all kinds. In my spare time, I love to paint. It's the one art thing that I create that is just for me. And then I come here and share it with you! At some point I might take commissions, but I'm not quite ready for that yet.
I work with a variety of media. My older, traditional, artwork was mainly graphite and colored pencil, sometimes combined with marker. I always use photoshop to add a watermark signature. Once in a while I'd do the random wall mural in acrylic. But I never considered myself a painter. In 2017 something finally clicked and I suddenly got a craving to use Watercolor. At this same time I was playing digitally in Procreate. Mid 2020 I picked up Acrylics again. This time on canvas and with some better supplies. Maybe, eventually, I'll learn to use oils, but for now that medium eludes me.
I've created a second website, Sharp Fantasy Art, where I can showcase a lot of my artwork on clothing and accessories- Tee shirts, hoodies, tank tops, bags and more!
